My makeup method is great for hooded eyes – you don’t need so much eyeliner & everyone’s obsessed with my lash curler

EVERY woman with hooded eyes knows the feeling of following a makeup tutorial to no avail.

A beauty pro demonstrated the trick she uses to create a wider and more open look.

In her viral video, Rachel Bowling (@rachelbowling) talked her followers through each step of her eye makeup process.

Before she began, the Instagrammer gave her audience a look at her bare eyes for comparison later.

For her first step, Rachel used her finger to apply eyeshadow to her eyelids.

“Use a light shimmer on the inner corner,” she advised her followers.

Next, she moved on to applying eyeliner but warned her audience not to make a common mistake.

“Only apply liner on the outer corner of the eye and pull it up towards the tail of the eyebrow,” she explained.

While most tutorials involve drawing your eyeliner across your entire lash line, Rachel recommended those with hooded eyes skip this step.

For her next step, she demonstrated the best technique to use for your eyeshadow.

“Take a dense brush and apply a darker matte shade,” she said as she carried out the move.

She suggested “concentrating on the outer corner and working your way in.”

Rachel recommended using your eyeliner as a guide when applying your eyeshadow.

For her final step, she focused on adding length and volume to her lashes.

“Apply mascara to the upper and lower lashes and curl,” she advised her viewers.

And if you’re still unsure whether or not you have hooded eyes, the experts at M2U NYC explained how to identify them.

“Hooded eyes are caused by an extra layer of skin underneath the brow bone,” they explained.

“When your eyes are open, this skin droops down over your eyelid, essentially tucking your lid into your crease.

“If you can’t see your natural crease or your eyelid when your eyes are open, you likely have hooded eyes.”

Instagram users shared their thoughts on the tips in the comments section.

“This was extremely helpful. Everyone mentions ‘hooded eyes’ but no one ever explained what that means. Your physical demo made it clear,” said one viewer.

“Yes!!! Thank you! Hooded girls get no attention,” wrote another impressed follower.

“Thank you for the tip. I’m 60 and have bad hooded eyes. I need help,” commented a third person.

Other viewers heaped on the praise for Rachel’s heated eyelash curler.

“I’ve never found anything that actually works in my eyelashes to curl them. I would love to try it out,” said one follower.
