When the controls were carried out on highways and highways, using dynamic radar (with the radar on board the vehicle and driving), the average speed at which the reported drivers were traveling was 130 km/h, which represents 10 km/h above the limit generic allowed on this type of roads, slightly higher than the vehicles that exceeded the speed in the previous campaign.
Inappropriate speed is the third most common concurrent factor in traffic accidents, which is why controls have been strengthened, with both static and dynamic radarsand on all types of roads.
To these results we must add the controls that the different local police of the city councils that have been invited have carried out in their area of ​​action, a very important collaboration so that the message of respecting the established speed limits, regardless of the road you travel on.
The DGT recalls that it has been proven that speed not only affects the risk of being involved in a traffic accident, but also that The higher the speed, the more difficult it will be to react. in time to prevent the accident and the more serious the injuries caused as a result of it will be.
