La Solana de Valdebebas, between radial 2 and Alcobendas, will have more than 292,000 square meters of green areas and will have almost 1,400 new homes of which 45% will be protected. He City of Madrid has definitively approved the urbanization project of this new development that will be the link between La Moraleja and the area of ​​the Airport City and the Valdebebas park.

The new space in the district of Vegetable will have more than one million square meters of surface. There will be 292,000 m² of green areas, the Valdebebas stream and its valleys will be preserved, the expansion and completion of the existing Valdebebas park is planned and a new route will be designed for the Toros path, which will expand the old road. livestock up to 27,000 square meters. In addition, the old Solana viewpoint is recovered, which “will become a meeting space, with vegetation and trees designed to highlight its symbolic value,” as detailed by the vice mayor of Madrid and municipal spokesperson, Inma Sanz.

The project, which will be financed and executed by the Compensation Board of the area with the supervision of the Works and Equipment Area, It will enhance pedestrian and cyclist mobility. The objective is to facilitate access to public transport, reduce motorized traffic during internal travel and avoid passing traffic; within the framework of the Madrid City Council’s commitment to sustainable urban planning.

Almost 1,400 homes will be built

La Solana de Valdebebas will have 1,392 homes, both single-family and collective, of which 637 (45%) will have some type of protection. The City Council will promote 422 of the protected homes to be used for affordable rentals. The new neighbors will also have local commerce on the ground floors of the residential buildings and two plots for exclusive commercial use of more than 8,000 square meters.

On the other hand, the project allocates 46,500 m² to public networks of collective services (equipment, public and sports services), 141,500 m² to local roads and 45,000 m² to main public roads. This is complemented by a reserve of 104,000 m2 of land for private residential uses that serve the residents of Madrid.
