Knicks fans go nuts again after Game 1 win over Pacers

Knicks fans took to the streets of midtown Manhattan to celebrate after the Knicks took Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Pacers on Monday night.

As has been the scene all playoffs long, jubilant Knicks fans took over Seventh Avenue outside of Madison Square Garden, even pouring into the street at one point social media video showed.

The Knicks toppled the Pacers 121-117 on Monday night in large part thanks to a massive 3-pointer from Donte DiVincenzo with 39 seconds left in the game to break a 115-115 tie.

The Garden erupted like it was 1994 when the final buzzer sounded, and the party began outside as fans danced and chanted on the bright New York City streets.

Several videos posted to social media showed Knicks fans jumping up and down and chanting “Go, New York, Go!”

Another video showed fans chanting while one supporter waved a giant Knicks flag just outside the main entrance of the World’s Most Famous Arena.

And yet another saw a confident group of supporters chanting “Knicks in four.”

At one point, the fans spilled into the streets and appeared to be blocking traffic along Seventh Avenue, though it seemed to be just a small group.

Monday night’s win continued a chaotic playoffs that have seen a number of games go down to the wire between the Knicks and their postseason opponents.

“We just find a way,” said Jalen Brunson, who finished with 43 points and became the seventh player in NBA history to score 40-plus points in three straight playoff games.

“No matter what it is we just give each other confidence to make sure we can get the job done. It’s nothing in particular [that we’re doing] it’s just the group of guys that we have. We all just give each other confidence and move forward together.”

The Knicks will look to make it two straight against the Pacers with Game 2 at MSG on Wednesday night.
