AEW needed to keep up its momentum following a great PPV. While this recent episode of AEW Dynamite provided a ton of action and some fun matches, everyone will be talking about the divisive ending. Jack Perry and The Young Bucks were the main focus of the show, with The Elite looking for AEW head honcho Tony Khan to re-instate Perry. In the last segment of the episode, Khan did just that, but what followed was a heinous attack on the boss by Perry and the Bucks.
Tony Khan Joins A Long List Of Authority Figures That Got Taken Out By Their Employees
Jack Perry & The Young Bucks, along with Kazuchika Okada, were the focus of the April 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. After arriving at the arena, The Elite and Perry made their way to Tony Khan’s office, with the intention of getting The Scapegoat re-instated.
Jack Perry was suspended for his part in the backstage incident with CM Punk at AEW All In last year. During his suspension, Perry showed up in NJPW and tore his AEW contract, further complicating his relationship with the company. He made his return at AEW Dynasty, helping The Young Bucks defeat FTR for the Tag Team titles.

AEW has grown fast since 2019 due to the star power of many beloved wrestlers. However, other performers on the AEW roster were simply unlikable.
In the episode’s final minutes, Jack Perry made his way to the ring and invited Tony Khan to join him. After saying how much AEW means to him, and how he wants to be re-instated, Khan enthusiastically shook Perry’s hand and welcomed him back to AEW… only to be thanked with a punch to the gut by the dastardly Scapegoat.
The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada rushed out to stop Perry and to check on Tony. Instead of getting help, poor Tony got flipped over into a tombstone by Matthew Jackson, while Nicholas Jackson climbed to the top rope and hit a TK Driver on the boss.
Even Shad Khan, Tony’s Father, Got Involved
It was a hectic scene reminiscent of the Attitude Era, in both all the good and bad ways. Even Shad Khan, Jacksonville Jaguars owner and Tony Khan’s father, got in on the action, coming out with other wrestlers from behind-the-scenes to check on his son. This was his first official appearance in front of a camera for AEW.
While it was anything but boring, this was certainly an odd way to continue the momentum AEW built with their excellent showing at their PPV. It remains to be seen how the wrestling world reacts, but hopefully AEW can still hit the landing, something the company has struggled to do in the past.
