A WOMAN has revealed that she has been gatekeeping a “life changing” tip for finding designer clothes for really cheap on eBay.
Marcie said that she originally thought that this tip was “too good to give up”, but has finally decided it is time to part ways with her wisdom.

In a TikTok video, the savvy shopper shared that many people who sell designer items on eBay, aren’t actually aware of this value.
She revealed that a good way to check this is to try and find items listed with typos in the brand names.
If someone has spelt the name of the brand wrong, it is likely that they have heard of it, so aren’t actually aware it’s designer.
This also means that not many people will be able to find the items, so they are unlikely to have many bids.
Marcie revealed that her secret hack to find items with typos in is to use a website called Fat Fingers, which she said looks like it was built in 2006.
She said that all you have to do is type in the name of a brand and the website will show you every possible spelling mistake someone could conceivably make, and then every eBay listing that has one of these typos.
“It is incredible”, Marcie said.
“As I’m sure you can imagine, it has pretty much infinite uses”.
Marcie said that you can use the website on your phone, but revealed that it works better on a desktop as you can open it on eBay with the search terms it generates.
She said: “I’m sure you can see why I’ve been gatekeeping this, as the more people that know about it, the less it works for me.
“But I just felt too bad, because it’s too good of a hack”.
Marice’s video, which was posted under the username @yikesmarcie has likely left many impressed, as it has gone viral, racking up 1.7 million views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.
One person said: “I’ve been using this for a long time. it’s so good.”
A second said: “I’ve been finding rare Britney Spears stuff for years because people spell it ‘Brittany'”
A third added: “This is how I come into excellent lightly used ‘expresso’ machines on fb marketplace”.
A fourth said: “Life changing advice”.

- Be realistic with pricing – Try searching for similar items on eBay, to make sure you’re going for the right price and always ask yourself “would I pay this price for this item?”
- Donate to charity – When listing your item, consider donating a percentage of the sale to a cause of your choice – from 10% to 100% – you can donate the funds raised from your item straight from the platform.Â
eBay recently made a made a major change to it’s website, meaning that sellers can now make more cash from selling old clothes.
Previously, eBay took a cut of all profits, however this has now changed, and sellers will keep all of the money from the clothes they have sold.
Kirsty Keoghan, general manager of global fashion for eBay, told The Sun: “If you sell a dress and list it for £20, you’ll get that full £20 into your account.
“We’re excited to tackle the nation’s overflowing wardrobes, help people earn more money and keep clothes out of landfill.”
This charge only applies to second-hand fashion, and does not apply to other items such as toys or electronics.
