“It happens to me every fucking time I come here.”

Tennis player Maria Timofeeva, current number 99 in the WTA ranking, has denounced through her Instagram account having been victim of a robbery worth 10,000 euros during his participation in the Mutua Madrid Open. The Russian player has also explained that it is not the first time that a similar episode has happened to her in the capital of Spain.

“I would like to share my story for people who find themselves in a similar situation. Someone has used my bank account and taken out more than 10,000 euros. I returned six months later to Madrid and they robbed me again,” Timofeeva added.

Maria explained that “most of the time” she had the credit card with her and she does not know how and when it may have happened: “I don’t know, because I have the card and I have carried it with me most of the timeeven when my hotel room was cleaned, I was inside.”

“It’s very crazy and I don’t know how it could have happened. I don’t know how it happens to me every fucking time I come to Madrid”, stressed the young 20-year-old player after suffering a new unfortunate episode. Likewise, she acknowledged that she only used the card to pay for her coach’s room at the hotel and that she did not receive any confirmation message because the card was not linked to his main bank account.
