Israel arrives at Hamas headquarters in Khan Younis as truce deal is delayed

Israel destroyed the headquarters of the radical terrorist group this Sunday Hamas in Khan Younis, the group’s stronghold in the southern Gaza Strip, while Hopes fade for a truce agreement can be announced this Sunday night.

However, the terrorist group demands as a starting point the Israeli commitment that they access a permanent ceasefire that ends the warsomething that Israel is not willing to accept because its goal is to “dismantle Hamas.”

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahuinsisted this Sunday in his weekly meeting with the government cabinet that Israel “will not accept any agreement, nor at any price” about a truce in the Gaza Strip, while waiting for Hamas’ counteroffer to an agreement proposal mediated by Qatar and Egypt.

The Islamist group has presented a more defined proposal and awaits a response from Israel, although they clarified that the main point is the end of hostilities and the departure of Israeli troops from the enclaveterrorist sources said.

Israel’s war cabinet was scheduled to meet this Sunday night to study Hamas’ counterproposal, which has not yet arrived. while facing strong internal pressure, especially the relatives of the hostages, to reach an agreement that allows their release.

Israel continues its operation

Waiting for news about a possible truce, the Israeli Army continued its military offensive this Sunday in the area of ​​Khan Younis, a Hamas stronghold in the south of the Strip, and announced the destruction of the group’s headquarters in that city.

A training center for the Khan Yunis Brigade was found there, as well as the offices of its commander. Mohamed Sinwar, brother of Yahya Sinwar, leader of the Islamist group within the enclave and Israel’s most wanted target in this war, considered the mastermind of the October 7 attacks.

The complex, known as Al Qadsia, was the base of that brigade, one of the most powerful in Hamas’s armed wing, and members of the group were planned and trained there for the attacks. October 7 in Israel, the Army reported.

On October 7, more than 3,000 Hamas militiamen carried out an armed incursion against dozens of communities in southern Israel, most of them kibbutzim, killing more than 1,200 people and kidnapping more than 250.

The Israeli Army also reported that soldiers from the Parachute Brigade have intensified fighting in recent days in the Al Amal area, in western Khan Younis, where Hamas militiamen are hiding, and where they have found weapons, entrances to underground tunnels, observation posts and weapons factories.

In the area is the hospital of the same name, under siege for almost two weeks, and where the Palestinian Red Crescent, which runs the center, says there have been alleged attacks and the impossibility of ambulance access.
