Andorra la VellaThe Council of Ministers has approved these Wednesday, at the proposal of the head of the Presidency, Economy, Work and Housing, Conxita Marsol, the Decree establishing the procedure for the approval of the projects and the related final work certificates fire safety in high-rise buildings and public establishments. The objective of the regulation is to increase the coordination of the various Government departments in matters of fire safety, with the clear aim of guaranteeing and ensuring the safety of people and property in high-rise buildings and public establishments. In this way, the existing regulations in this field are strengthened.

The Decree establishes that, together with the start of the processing of a license for the construction or renovation of high-rise buildings, a fire safety project drawn up by an authorized professional must be submitted. This project is accompanied by a favorable report issued by the department responsible for industrial safety and by the Department of Fire Prevention and Extinction and Rescue. Currently this procedure was only approved and validated by the Industrial Safety and Quality Area, introducing the Fire Brigade into the circuit.

Likewise, and as additional reinforcement, when the final work certificate relating to the fire safety project is presented to the competent department in industrial safety matters, this certificate must be accompanied by a favorable report issued by the Department of Prevention and Extinction of Fires and Rescues.

The regulations do not apply to fire safety projects and final work certificates that have already been submitted for validation. In the event that only the fire safety project has been submitted, the fire brigade certificate must be attached to the final work certificate.
