The duo of James Drake and Zack Gibson, the Grizzled Young Veterans have long been fixtures in the wrestling scene, initially making their mark in NXT UK as inaugural UK Tag Team Champions before transitioning to NXT in North America. After requesting their release last year, the duo ventured to TNA Wrestling, and now they’re poised to shake up the industry once again with their own venture. They recently announced plans to launch their own independent wrestling promotion, Burning Heart Pro Wrestling, set to kick off this June. The announcement video came out the same day as AEW posted that the tag team would be coming to AEW.
They claim that Burning Heart Pro Wrestling aims to carve its niche in the wrestling landscape with a roster led by a committee of “top international wrestlers.” With the inaugural event slated for June 21 at Liverpool Olympia, the promotion seeks to tap into the history of the venue and the spirit of the love for the industry in that area.
