Kosmos will appeal the blocking of the bank account of its president, Gerard Piqué. A measure taken by the judge investigating alleged irregularities in RFEF contracts, including that of the Spanish Super Cup, which the company considers “disproportionate.”
“In this process, neither Kosmos nor Gerard Piqué have the formal status of being investigated“, Kosmos sources have told Europa Press, so “Kosmos will proceed to appeal said measure, considering it disproportionate, since the requirements for a precautionary measure of this type are not met.”
The business group has also explained that “this is a precautionary measure within the investigation process that has been carried out in that court since 2022, motivated by the contract to transfer the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia, in which that Kosmos acted as an intermediary hired by SELA (Saudi company)”.
In this sense, and “in accordance with what is established in the summary of the case”, Kosmos has stressed that “there is nothing that implies a crime committed” neither for themselves nor for the former footballer of FC Barcelona and the Spanish team.
“The UCO report included in the summary specifies that no irregularity detected in the analysis of Kosmos accounts, nor payments to accounts held by natural and legal persons linked to the RFEF directors under investigation”, the note concluded.
