This week marks the arrival of quite a few new movies on VOD, including the action comedy Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, horror movie Abigail, and Guy Ritchie’s newest action flick The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
Starring Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, and Eiza Gonzalez, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an adaptation of Damien Lewis’s book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops. Though the film is fictionalized, it’s an account of the true story of one of the most infamous covert operations of World War II, Operation Postmaster, in which British secret forces wrested control of Axis ships off the coast of Africa in 1942.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is the sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and co-stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and Finn Wolfhard, with appearances from the O.G. Ghostbusters cast, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, William Atherton, and Annie Potts. This latest iteration brings everyone together in New York City to ward off a demonic god who has plans to create a ghost army and conquer the world.
The new vampire horror Abigail stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, and the late Angus Cloud in his final film role. Abigail follows a group of six kidnappers tasked with caring for the 12-year-old daughter of a powerful underworld figure for one night in order to collect a $50 million ransom, but one by one, the kidnappers meet a grisly fate and learn that this young girl isn’t as innocent as they thought.
