Asuka is out of WWE action with an injury, one that another star has confirmed she’s been battling through for some time.
Highlights
- Asuka’s injury has been ongoing, with Nia Jax praising her for wrestling through the pain and giving her all for the fans.
- The injury was first noticed in March on SmackDown, and it may have played a role in the Women’s Tag Team Championship title change at Backlash.
- Asuka’s toughness is well-known in WWE, but her absence from the Queen of the Ring tournament suggests the injury may have worsened.
Asuka is reportedly going to be out of action for WWE. Dealing with a real-life injury, Dakota Kai replaced The Empress of Tomorrow during the Queen of the Ring Tournament on Monday night’s Raw, and it is being reported that Auska had been battling through an injury, even though she performed at WWE Backlash in France just a couple of days before she was pulled from action. She reportedly wrestled four matches in four days despite the injury.
Nia Jax responded to an X.com post about how Asuka had battled through the injury, adding, “Also, has been working live events and TV every single week in pain. Traveling the world with brutal flights and bus rides, and gave 1000 percent every night for the fans! @WWEAsuka is the best!!!” Jax’s comments clearly show that this isn’t a new injury but something Asuka has been wrestling with for some time. It could explain part of the reasoning behind the title change at Backlash, where Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill won the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Word of an injury for Asuka first surfaced During an episode of SmackDown in March. She appeared to have injured her foot, as she was limping through the show’s final segment as Damage CTRL turned on and attacked Bayley. At the time, it was not said the injury is incredibly serious, and Asuka returned to action not long after. She wrestled through and played her role at WrestleMania 40, but was removed from a few live events. It’s not clear if she aggravated the injury or has just been fighting through it until WWE could book she and Kaira Sane to drop the titles.

Asuka Is Ridiculously Tough
Known as one of the toughest wrestlers in the company (man or woman), no one should be surprised if she forged on until the company was able to find time to pull her. That said, her inclusion in the Queen of the Ring tournament at all suggests that the severity of her injury became new information and Dakota Kai was plopped into the match as a result. Asuka was apparently backstage at Raw, even though she didn’t appear on camera on Monday night. It may have been her intention to try and compete.
