Drew Gulak Written Off NXT TV Following Ronda Rousey Allegations

The Family has “taken care of” the absent NXT star.

Highlights

  • Drew Gulak appears to have been written off of NXT TV following the allegations Ronda Rousey made against him.
  • The Family told the No Quarter Catch Crew that its missing member had been “taken care of”.
  • Rousey claimed Gulak grabbed at the drawstring of her pants unprompted when he passed her backstage.

Among many things Ronda Rousey has been revealing about her time in WWE lately was an allegation made against Drew Gulak. The former Women’s Champion claimed Gulak grabbed at the drawstring on her pants when passing her backstage in WWE, adding that she confronted him about it shortly after. It’s unclear how WWE plans on handling or investigating the accusation, if at all, but a segment during this week’s episode of NXT implies Gulak has been written off TV, possibly never to return.

Gulak’s most recent work has been as a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew in NXT, defending the group’s Heritage Cup on the March 19 edition of the show. However, when the group appeared on NXT on Tuesday, Gulak was nowhere to be seen. Joining Tony D’Angelo’s Family in the ring, the No Quarter Catch Crew commented on the rival faction taking care of someone for them. Gulak wasn’t mentioned by name, but it doesn’t take a genius to join those dots.

NXT & Netflix Set To Play An Interesting First Time Role In The WWE Draft

At this year’s annual draft, WWE is looking to make NXT a bigger brand on the level with Raw and SmackDown, and Netflix may have some say as well.

The Family’s mafia gimmick suggests that when they take care of someone, they kill them, meaning Gulak may well be gone for good and the No Quarter Catch Crew will move forward without him. As of now, there is no indication that WWE has released Gulak. His profile is still on the active roster. It was noted shortly after the Rousey allegations that some in WWE expected Gulak to be released immediately, but that didn’t happen.

WWE’s Reaction To The Allegations

Removing Gulak from TV isn’t the first way WWE has acknowledged it’s reacting to Rousey’s allegations. The former Cruiserweight Champion was also moved during the Hall of Fame ceremony. It’s unclear if Gulak was asked to leave, but someone on the production team noticed he was sitting near a friend of Rousey’s so figured it would be wise to move him. Gulak’s WrestleMania weekend appearances were also canceled following Rousey’s comments.

Gulak reacted quickly to Rousey’s claims, admitting the incident happened but that it was a misunderstanding rather than an attempt to try and grab her inappropriately. Gulak claims he went to shake Rousey’s hand and accidentally hit her drawstring, adding that he apologized for the misunderstanding afterward. Rousey has had a lot to say about WWE lately, detailing in her new book how Vince McMahon reacted to her attempts to try and get the names of the company’s women’s titles changed.
