Unfortunately, she came across a group of Internet sleuths who were starting to dig up a patch of land that they had seen Freddie sniffing around at.

Toyah became distressed before picking up a spade and smashing one of their car windscreens in a bid to get them to stop.

Thankfully Nick Tilsley arrived and hurried her away before she could do any more damage, but she was soon questioned by him and her sister Leanne about her over reaction in the park.

Toyah tried to explain her actions away saying she was concerned about Roy, who is currently being held in prison accused of murdering missing teen Lauren Bolton.

But it was clear something else was a miss, and later, she went to the flower shop to buy a single yellow rose, before heading back to the Red Rec as it got dark.

Placing the yellow rose on the ground, she said: “I’m so sorry” and looked sadly off into the distance.

It marked the start of Coronation Street’s controversial storyline which will reveal Toyah had buried her stillborn baby on the Red Rec after being raped in 2001.

While fans are disgusted by the storyline, some did find a moment of light relief in the price of the rose Toyah bought.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Toyah paying £4.50 for ONE yellow rose?! The cost of living crisis doesn’t spare anyone…”

Another added: “£4.50 for a single yellow rose! You can get a whole bunch for £3.99 from @LidlGB #Corrie #costofliving.”

A third tweeted: “£4.50 for a single yellow rose? Up North? It’s not Valentines anymore, Jeez!*!”

A fellow viewer commented: “£4.50 for one rose? Swipe one from someone’s garden, Toyah, save ya money.”

Meanwhile a fifth joked: “Nothing unites #Corrie Twitter more than £4.50 for a single rose” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.
