R-Truth Had Cody Rhodes’ Number When He Was Stardust
Cody Rhodes may have overcome the long shadow cast by his father, Dusty Rhodes, when he became the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40, but his story might not yet be finished. 5 Wrestlers Cody Rhodes Gets Along With (& 4 That He Doesn’t)
Cody Rhodes has had quite the pro wrestling journey, forming close relationships with some wrestlers, and creating friction with others.
Cody Rhodes recently spoke with Fightful, and was asked who was the lowest-rated wrestler in the WWE 2K24 video game. His answer was R-Truth, and his explanation was hilarious, claiming he lost 42 times to Truth during his Stardust days, way back in 2015.
“So, this is something that is a little Fightful exclusive here. Not that I was Stardust, but if I was Stardust, I think Stardust lost 42 different times to R-Truth. Sometimes the matches were less than two minutes. So when people say finishing the story, part of finishing that story is beating R-Truth. Right now, I can’t touch him. Everyone loves R-Truth. He’s the man and I have to be, ‘Oh, great, R-Truth!’ But if you see R- Truth come in the Rumble and me just double leg him and take him down. You’ll know why. Deep history.”
While it’s unlikely that R-Truth gets a legitimate shot at Cody Rhodes’ WWE Championship, weirder things have happened. It could be a nice filler feud for Cody as he awaits for bigger competition. Although R-Truth is a pretty (un)serious competitor, Cody should have the advantage, and that’s only because he ditched the Stardust gimmick.
