Carlow Nationalist — Tea Day at Bethany House will raise funds for Alzheimer Society

MARK your calendars for a very special cup of tea! The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is hosting the 30th Alzheimer’s Tea Day across Ireland and the Alzheimer’s Day Centre at Bethany House in Carlow will join in the celebrations on Thursday 9 May from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

The 30th anniversary is a significant milestone as statistics show that at least 30 people in Ireland are diagnosed with dementia every single day.

Centre manager Susan O’Byrne said: “2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Tea Day and we are delighted to host Tea Day at Bethany House Day Centre to help support our services users, their families and carers.”

Alzheimer’s Tea Day brings communities together across Ireland to support the ASI’s vital work, providing much-needed resources and services for the 64,000 individuals living with dementia and their families nationwide.

With the number of people diagnosed with dementia expected to double in the next 25 years, the need for support has never been greater.
