IT might not be something that Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe would recognise but for Sunday League footballers, our photographer Michael O’Rourke brilliantly snapped a scene that is all too familiar.
After all, can you really say you played Sunday League football unless you’ve you been hoisted up on somebody’s shoulders with tape in hand to fix up the goal net attached to the crossbar?
David O’Shea has proved to be a man of many talents through an illustrious Carlow Soccer League career and here he was again proving there is nothing he can’t do when the net needed repairs during New Oak Boys’ Premier Division Cup semi-final win over Hanover Harps.
