A MUCH-NEEDED break from the abysmal weather was provided when Ciara and Robert Stanley hosted a coffee morning for farmers and other agri workers.
The sun finally made an appearance in Coppenagh House Farm outside Tullow when the coffee morning took place, with all attendees enjoying a brew and a short break from their work. Ciara and Robert decided to organise the event because their farming friends were finding it difficult to face the relentless grey days and non-stop rain, plus the worry and stress of trying to grow food and take care of their animals in such conditions.
“The coffee morning got people talking about what they were going through and that’s what we wanted. There were a lot of conversations going on that day, which is good. Farmers have to work hail, rain or shine and it can get you down when it’s raining all the time. I really feel that the coffee morning gave people a bit of a boost … a bit of a break away from that,” said Ciara.
The event was supported by Carlow Macra, with several of its members attending.
