Carlow Nationalist — Car stolen in broad daylight from Tullow car park

The red Citroen C4 was stolen from Tullow

A MOTORIST has issued a warning for other drivers to be vigilant after his car was stolen in broad daylight on Saturday 20 April from a public car park in Tullow.

Mark Heaton left his red Citroën C4 in the car park on Saturday and when he returned around noon it was gone.

“I thought at first that it was the council that had taken it away, but it wasn’t. An eye witness saw three people come along, break one of the windows and then hook it up to a tow hook and take it away,” a shocked Mark told ***The Nationalist***.

The witness saw that the three men were wearing some sort of uniform so she thought the car was being towed away legally until she discovered that Mark was making inquiries about his stolen Citroën.

“It’s quite a visible car because it’s red, but it’s not new, it’s from 2008. I don’t know what value it would have to those people, but they clearly wanted it because there were six other cars in the car park at the time,” continued Mark. “Is it normal for people to steal cars now in broad daylight? Any help in finding it would be great, but I don’t think I’ll see it again.”
