Back in 2022, Karthi starred in a massive hit film called Sardar which was directed by PS Mithran. Now, with two years gone by since its release, it seems that the film’s sequel is set to come in as well.
According to a recent post on X (previously Twitter) by cinephile Amutha Bharathi, the makers of the film are set to commence the shoot in June this year. Moreover, it also seems that a pooja will be occurring soon with the official glimpse of the same coming in by May end.
Karthi starrer Sardar 2 set to commence soon?
The Karthi starrer spy action flick is also speculated to deal with drug trafficking and the awareness surrounding the same. The film is currently undergoing activities in its pre-production stage with artists being finalized.
With the shoot set to begin in a couple of months, Karthi is expected to complete the shoot for his next release, Vaa Vathiyare soon and step into this project.
About Sardar
Sardar starring Karthi in a dual role follows the story of a disgraced spy who returns from a long exile in order to prevent a water company from spreading toxic waste all over the country’s water supply. The actor plays both father and son in the film with an additional cast of actors like Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, and many more in key roles.
The film also marked the debut Tamil film for Hindi actor Chunky Pandey along with being a comeback role for actress Laila. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, making it one of the top Tamil grossers in 2022.
Karthi’s work front
After appearing in a forgetful venture like Japan in 2023, Karthi is all set to bring back his charm on the big screen with his next lineups. The actor is currently shooting for his film Vaa Vaathiyaare directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, marking it as the latter’s return to helming a feature film after Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum.
The film also stars Krithi Shetty in the lead role with actors like Sathyaraj and Anandaraj confirmed to play key roles. Moreover, Karthi is also expected to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj once again after the director finishes his next project Coolie with Superstar Rajinikanth.
