The Argentine Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, said this Thursday in Chili that the Lebanese Shiite party Hezbollah operates on the triple border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentinaterritory in which “they are installed and launder money.”
“They use the PCC of Brazil, First Capital Command, they use Argentine and Paraguayan organizations thatand they kidnap, rob or traffic drugs. And they buy and launder money,” Bullrich said in a forum at the National Business Meeting (Enade) 2024, in Santiago, Chile.
The Argentine Secretary of State has also pointed out that “they use these organizations as a screen, while they appear as merchants, or as businessmen in the area,” although she did not insist on the presence of Hezbollah in Chile, as she stated last week. .
“And that is perhaps why we, Argentines, have a special sensitivity, because, last week, our highest criminal court in Argentina just gave an opinion saying that Iran acted in Argentina as a terrorist state. And that his tool was Hezbollah,” he commented.
“But the same thing may be happening with other organizations, which are appearing with a level of sophistication and planning typical of linked backgrounds to the Armed Forces,” added Bullrich.
It is worth remembering that Chile presented a note of protest against the statements of the Argentine Minister of Security about the alleged presence of Hezbollah in the city of Iquique (north).
This action was added to the letter that the Chilean ambassador to the United States, Juan Gabriel Valdés, sent to the Congress of that country to express his annoyance at the statements of Republican Senator Marco Rubiowho also suggested that there is a presence and links in Chile of Hezbollah, one of Iran’s main allies.
