Over the last year, fans have seen far less of Britt Baker than they had done during the first few years of her time in AEW. Even when she taken out with an injury back in 2020, she still regularly appeared on-screen and developed her heel character. However, her recent back injury has kept her on the shelf completely.

There isn’t too much known about the seriousness or the return timetable for Baker. Back in December, Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that it was in fact a back problem she was suffering from. “Baker has been bothered by a bad back as well, which she’s been dealing with for a long time, which is why she put some people over and hasn’t been around much of late.”

They had met in the past, but things kicked into gear when they met on a dating app, though Baker was not interested in a relationship with a fellow wrestler. Cole persisted, and after months of traveling for hours to visit one another, they eventually got together, remaining in a relationship ever since.

This has been acknowledged on AEW programming from time to time, notably during Adam Cole’s feud with Chris Jericho, where they got a chance to team up in mixed tag action.
