Skirmishes broke out as tensions flared between the opposing groups.
The large crowd reportedly consisted of four different rallies. Pro-Palestinian organizations, including the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice, expressed solidarity with the student-led Palestinian solidarity encampment set up earlier this week. The encampment calls for the university to divest from Israel and for a ceasefire in Gaza.
