It has been almost two years since the first allegations were made against Vince McMahon. The former WWE chairman managed to sweep those claims under the rug somewhat, weaseling his way back into the wrestling fold a few months later. McMahon hasn’t been able to do the same following the Janel Grant lawsuit. Accused of some very serious crimes, including sexual assault and even trafficking, McMahon is now about as disconnected from WWE as he will ever be. However, a new report suggests that even if charged with the crimes he’s accused of, McMahon might avoid serious punishment.

How Can Vince McMahon Be Pardoned For His Crimes

McMahon has been hit with a grand jury subpoena, but for the time being, hasn’t been charged for any of the crimes Grant has accused him of. It seems likely he will be though, but in the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), it’s suggested that even if McMahon’s situation worsens and he’s charged, he may be pardoned by his good friend, Donald Trump.

Vince McMahon Allegedly Still Keeps Contact With WWE Stars Despite Exit From Company

Vince McMahon is living his life relatively unfazed after his exit from WWE, and he still keeps in contact with a couple of WWE stars.

WON notes that many believe if McMahon is charged for the crimes he’s accused of and Trump wins the next presidential election, the 78-year-old will be pardoned for his alleged crimes. Readers are also reminded that Linda McMahon is still on the Trump Media and Technology Group’s board of directors, although it’s all but confirmed at this point that even if they are still married, Vince and Linda have been separated for a while.

The report about Vince and Trump also claims the two of them have been in contact a lot recently, but a spokesperson for Vince has claimed those reports are false (via Cultaholic). The spokesperson claims Vince and Trump have only spoken to one another once in the past few years, and that was for a very brief conversation following Vince’s back surgery. Vince underwent spinal surgery last summer, meaning if he and Trump have only spoken once recently, it was less than a year ago.

It’s sad, but I get the feeling that even if everything Vince is accused of is proven true, he won’t suffer much more than he already has. The former chairman has been selling his stocks and is completely disconnected from WWE, something he never envisioned for himself as he almost certainly wanted to continue running WWE until he died. My guess is no matter what happens next, McMahon will continue to fade into the background, fans thinking about him less and less with each passing day.
