Before his death, Edwin Arrieta made at least seven money transfers to Daniel Sancho through a call center in Madrid

Edwin Arrieta sent money to Daniel Sancho on at least seven occasions, just a few months before his alleged murder in Thailand. The money was transferred from Santiago de Chile, where the Colombian surgeon had a clinic, through More Money Transfer, an international money transfer platform.

Sources close to Edwin Arrieta in Chile have exclusively provided 20 minutes the receipts of those transfers made from the Chilean capital, which confirm the thesis defended by the Arrieta family that Edwin lent significant amounts of money to Sanchowho is being tried in Thailand as allegedly responsible for his death.

The first of those seven transfers took place on December 5, 2022. In the sender the name of Edwin Arrieta appears and Daniel Sancho appears as a beneficiary. The money was sent from Santiago de Chile in Chilean pesos (960,578.79), which at the current exchange rate was equivalent to 1,005.21 euros. Daniel received that money at the Max Diseños call center, located in the Pilar neighborhood of Madrid, very close to the La Vaguada shopping center.

The rest of the transfers were made following the same pattern: money transfers in Chilean pesos from Santiago de Chile to Madrid. Sancho always received that money in the same booth, except on one occasion, when he received it in a Trans Fast office, located on Almansa Street in the Spanish capital.

The second transfer was made on December 28, for a value of 500 euros, and these money transfers continued in the first months of 2023: January 9 (1,000.22 euros); January 16 (500 euros); February 1 (1,017.44 euros); February 20 (500.93 euros) and March 4 (600 euros).

In four of these transfers, Edwin Arrieta himself appears as the sender, while in the other three the sender is an employee of the Colombian surgeon in his clinic in Santiago de Chile. The beneficiary is always the same: Daniel Sancho.

Arrieta’s environment points to the economic motive

Those around the Arrieta family point to a financial motive as the cause of the alleged murder. Three Colombian friends of the surgeon already They explained in this newspaper that Edwin “had taken out of the bank a significant amount of money to pay Daniel for the restaurant he wanted to open” and indicated that the Spaniard had no intention of returning that money.

Likewise, in WhatsApp messages exchanged between two friends of the surgeon and a relative of Edwin on the same day of his death, to which this newspaper has had accessthere is talk of the money that he would have lent to Daniel Sancho and that would amount to more than 200,000 euros.
