Andorra la VellaThe former head of government and representative of SDP Progressives in the state pact for the EU, Jaume Bartumeu, has offered statements to various media to argue his position and that of the party in favor of the association agreement with Europe.
In words that collected by RTVA, has assured that “Europe is not an option, Europe is literally a necessity”. He considers it essential for the country to be in “some kind of institutional structure” that allows more collaborations and “receive support and aid”.
Bartumeu has also criticized the Government for not yet publishing the full text of the association agreement. “I have been giving explanations for four months as to why you have not published the agreement,” he declares.
The representative of Progressistes SDP has advanced that for this reason they will soon give the go-ahead to a communication partner, where the positive and negative parts are really explained, which he recognizes also exist. However, he concludes by assuring that “it is a sufficient agreement to start a new stage”.
