Barcelona City Council gives the green light to the works to build the largest public library in Spain after decades of delay

In 1989, the minister of culture, Jorge Semprunexpressed for the first time the desire that Barcelona would have the State Public Libraryone of the most large in the country and even in Europe. However, it has been one of the great pending issues regarding State investment in Catalonia.

Now, more than thirty years later, the Government Commission of Barcelona City Council has approved the construction license for the construction of this facility that so many obstacles and even location changes has been found on the road, as reported this Tuesday by the council.
