Armed ex-cop accused of killing his ex-wife, girlfriend is on the run after being due in court for rape

A former school police officer accused of killing his ex-wife at the school where she worked and his girlfriend is now on the run after facing rape allegations against two minors.

Washington State Police have labeled Elias Huizar, 39, as “armed and dangerous” and fear he may commit more crimes as he’s suspected of heading toward Mexico.

Huizar allegedly killed his ex-wife Amber Rodriguez at the William Wiley Elementary school on Monday afternoon, police said.

As cops searched for Huizar, they found his second victim — his underage girlfriend — lifeless in his home just minutes away from the school.

Police issued an Amber Alert after they had been unable to locate him and his 1-year-old son, Roman. Officials fear that Roman was abducted by Huizar.

The ex-cop was due to appear in court over sexual assault charges after being accused of raping a drunk 16-year-old girl and her 17-year-old friend whom he is believed to have impregnated when she was 15, according to local reports from Tri City Herald and Apple Valley news.

It’s unclear if the girlfriend he’s charged with raping is the same woman who was found dead.

Huizar divorced Rodriguez in 2020. After their split, Rodriguez, with whom Huizar shared two children, had requested a protection order over fears for her and her kids’ safety.

She had claimed that the former cop had been harassing her since their divorce. She also claimed he was armed.

A hearing had been set for May 14.

On Feb. 3, Huizar was arrested after his 17-year-old girlfriend reported him to the police following an alleged attack on her 16-year-old friend who was staying the night.

Huizar and the unnamed girlfriend have a baby who was 9 months old at the time of his February court appearance, Tri-City Herald reports.

He was charged with second-degree rape, furnishing alcohol to minors, and third-degree rape over his relationship with the teen.

His bail was set at $200,000. He has since been released on the condition that he doesn’t contact either of the underage girls or consume any alcohol.

Huizar served with the police department between 2014 and 2022. During his tenure, he was assigned to serve as a cop at Washington Middle School in Yakima.
