From its inception, AEW has been all about providing an alternative to WWE which allowed a lot of unlikely stars to get big opportunities. While the likes of Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin, and MJF have all benefited from that, with Tony Khan continuing to grow his roster some are being left on the sidelines.

Whether it’s all the former WWE Superstars who are now part of the company or the fact that Khan never misses an opportunity to snap up the latest big free agent, the roster is bloated. There’s only so much television time that he can provide to people, and that means there are several AEW stars who are being underutilized currently.

Ricky Starks Is Sitting In The Background

He’s Got Main Event Potential

Whether it’s hanging with Adam Copeland on the microphone or going toe-to-toe with Bryan Danielson inside the ring, Ricky Starks has more than proven his ability as a performer for AEW. There are few in the company with as much charisma as him, and that’s something that AEW should be tapping into.

He has a very bright future in wrestling and he has a big fan backing, therefore it’s important AEW makes the most of him to keep him with the company long term. Starks and Big Bill had a good run together as AEW World Tag Team Champions, but ever since they dropped them he has been vastly underutilized.

Brody King Is Ready To Breakout As A Singles Performer

He’s Being Held Back In House Of Black

Being in a faction can be a fantastic launching pad for any wrestler, and that has certainly been the case for Brody King in AEW. His role in the House Of Black has helped him grow, but at this point it’s obvious that fans want to see more of him because of how talented King is.

He’s good enough to push as a threat in that way, rather than just as a secondary figure to Malakai Black. King brings something that few others can match due to his heavyweight style, which is why people want him to get that opportunity.

Pental El Zero Miedo Could Be So Much More

He Has Real Potential As A Singles Performer

Penta El Zero Miedo is someone that AEW does push regularly, with the masked wrestler getting plenty of television time. However, that doesn’t mean he’s not being underutilized. Anyone who has seen his work outside of AEW will be aware of how talented he is and the fact he can thrive as a singles performer.

Penta would work perfectly on his own without a manager as he’s got tons of charisma. His match quality is high, and he can work as a heel or a babyface which makes him versatile as well.

AEW Hasn’t Got The Best Out Of Saraya

She Could Be Featured More Regularly

Saraya simply being able to wrestle again is exciting enough for most fans considering the health issues she’s dealt with over the years. However, when it was revealed that the former Divas Champion was joining the company a lot of fans were excited about the potential that provided.

While she was pushed initially as part of The Outcasts, since that group came to an end there has been a lack of opportunities for her. Saraya has been a side character in AEW which is strange considering how much star power she brings to the company.

Kip Sabian Is An Original AEW Star

He’s Often Used To Just Put Others Over

Kip Sabian has been involved with AEW from day one, but the Englishman has rarely had any opportunities to showcase his talent. Sabian has given people glimpses of what he’s capable of when it came to his storyline with Miro, or how he reinvented himself with his box gimmick, but none led to bigger situations.

He’s a technically sound wrestler, and that’s something that he’d be able to showcase more if given the chance. While nobody expects Sabian to be the AEW World Champion, fans would like to see him become slightly more featured.

Jay White Has The Ability To Do More

He Should Be In The Main Event Scene

When Jay White first arrived in AEW his booking was hit and miss, which led to fans questioning what his future would be. However, his work against MJF for the AEW World Championship was fantastic. Tony Khan booked him in a prominent spot and White was allowed to truly thrive as a heel.

He was dastardly in his tactics, but ruthless in execution, all of which combined to make a fantastic character. But since that point, he’s fallen off the radar, and fans want to see a big change with his booking.

Rush Brings A Lot Of Intensity

His Hard-Hitting Style Is Eye Catching

Rush is one of the most intense wrestlers on the planet, with his physical attitude being something that makes fans buy into his legitimacy. He’s a driven wrestler who gives everything he has no matter how important the match is, and that’s something that fans love to watch.

People want to see him regularly because of his match quality, and if Tony Khan can plug him into a major storyline it would be a good test for what level he is ready to reach.

Athena Is One Of AEW’s Most Talented Workers

She’s Not Had Many Chances In AEW

Athena was criminally underused during her time in WWE, so there was an air of excitement about what she would bring to AEW. However, her time with the company has been very forgettable which is a missed opportunity on Tony Khan’s behalf.

He is aware of her talent due to how heavily she’s pushed as part of ROH. However, fans are becoming frustrated that her work isn’t being rewarded with storylines for AEW, where she could make a bigger splash.

Johnny TV Could Add A Lot Of Entertainment

His Work In ROH Has Been Brilliant

Johnny TV is an experienced television wrestler who truly understands the entertainment aspect of professional wrestling, and that in itself is why people would like to see him more. He’s a big star who likes to think outside the box and can perform at a very high level, which makes him an ideal candidate for more opportunities.

They have come with ROH, as his feud against Dalton Castle has been hilariously entertaining. That is why people want to see him more in AEW as he could bring something slightly different to the serious wrestling.
