Ricky Starks Denies Injury Reports

Starks hasn’t been seen on AEW television since he and Big Bill lost against Top Flight on the March 30 episode of AEW Collision. It’s sparked plenty of rumors among fans, all of whom are wondering where he is. Considering he appeared to get hurt during that match following a Tornado DDT the idea of him being injured has become a popular theory for his absence.

AEW’s Ricky Starks Needs To Break Away From Comparisons To The Rock

Ricky Starks may be one of AEW’s top stars, but the jokes and sidebar comparisons to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are slowly killing his character.

Starks was checked on by AEW’s medical team immediately after the match which only added fuel to that idea, although Starks cooled them at the time by claiming it was just a precaution. Despite that, reports have continued about the former AEW World Tag Team Champion being on the shelf due to injury with one stating he was checked on by the medical team as recently as last week.

It appears that fans don’t have to worry about Starks’ health as he took to social media to put an end to the speculation by making it clear he is fine.

That means Starks doesn’t need to be added to AEW’s growing list of injury concerns. The company already has top stars like MJF and Adam Cole out of action, while Julia Hart and Powerhouse Hobbs were recently added to that list which features many others.

What Is Next For Ricky Starks?

Of course, if Starks isn’t injured it does lead to more questions regarding where he’s been as of late. He’s a popular talent amongst AEW fans whether he’s working as a babyface or a heel, and that’s led to him having a lot of success during his time with the company so far.

From being a member of Team Taz to his most recent partnership with Big Bill, Starks has showcased he’s got the ability to make the most out of his time on television. He’s a former FTW and AEW World Tag Team Champion, and truly proved what he was capable of during his rivalry against Bryan Danielson.

Starks didn’t provide any clarification as to why he’s been off television, but the fact it’s not an injury means he could be plugged in at any time. Speculation about a move to WWE has followed him in recent years, especially due to his friendships with Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill.

Starks has attended several WWE shows alongside the American Nightmare to support him, including being present for his WWE WrestleMania 40 victory. But Starks remains under contract with AEW, and fans will patiently be waiting for his return.
