A minor threatens a girl to ‘smash her’ if she tells the police about the theft

Andorra la VellaA minor boy stole the mobile phone of a girl who is also a minor. The events took place in Andorra la Vella. The device is an iPhone 7 plus. The girl later demanded the boy give her back the cell phone by sending him a message through social networks. The thief responded with different threatening messages through the same channel through which he had been contacted. Among the sentences was “comoledigasalgo a la poli te reviento (…) Xqestoyinvestitandoo (…) encima (..) te advierto”.

The victim informed his family that his phone had been stolen and that the perpetrator refused to return it and that he was also threatening him. The girl’s mother tried to have the device, valued at 350 euros, returned, but it was unsuccessful. One of the answers he got was that he had lost it. Faced with this scenario, the crime was reported to the police.

The juvenile defendant acknowledged that he had made the threatening messages, but indicated that they were part of a much longer conversation that justified them. The police asked him to give them the long text he was referring to, but the boy wouldn’t.

Theft, being a criminal offense of less than 600 euros, has prescribed as a crime. The court emphasizes that in cases of minors, the most important thing is the inclusion of the person in their educational, family and social sphere. The crime of threats has not prescribed and therefore he will be monitored educationally for seven months.
