Andorra la VellaOn Wednesday, March 27, a couple was arrested near the city of Foix during routine checks by the French national police of Ariège. The officers found a load of up to 17,000 cigarettes in the car, as reported by several French media. The officers detected more regularities when inspecting them, namely that the driver did not have a license.
Both have faced justice and have been sentenced to pay a fine to French customs of up to 10,272 euros, each. The driver of the vehicle received a penalty of nine months in prison and two years without being able to be seen in the Arieja region. The companion, for his part, will also not have this ban, along with eight months in prison, although neither will enter.
