A 13-year-old boy is in serious condition after jumping out of the window of a school in Carabanchel

A 13-year-old boy is in serious condition after throwing himself this Thursday from the second-floor window of his school, in the Madrid district of Carabanchel. Although he survived the fall, the minor ssuffers broken lower extremities, bruises and possible internal injuries.

The events occurred around 10:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of the Pious Schools school, located in the Eugenia de Montijo street, in Madrid. Apparently, the boy opened one of the windows in the school hallway and rushed into the void, falling standing on the sidewalk. Several pedestrians helped the minor along with the center’s janitor, who alerted the teachers, until the emergency services arrived.

The Samur doctors arrived at the scene and, after immobilizing the minor, escorted him through the Municipal police to the Hospital Niño Jesús de Madrid, where he remains admitted in serious condition. For their part, some of the student’s colleagues received psychological care from Samur’s team for his shock after the unexpected incident.
