Grok is xAI’s chatbotthe company artificial intelligence of Elon Musk. Grok arrived at the end of last year to some paid X accounts in the United States, specifically to subscribers of the Premium+ program, the most expensive of the platform’s plans. According to Musk himself, the peculiarity of this AI is that it is an artificial intelligence that has no filter: it is “designed to have a little sense of humor” and “loves sarcasm”.
Arrived in Europe in May, a couple of months ago the company launched the beta version of its new Grok2 and Grok-2 mini language models for all X users for free. These present significant improvements in reasoning, coding, chat… And in addition to being able to generate images from text descriptions, you will now also be able to describe them.
Grok, X’s AI, can now describe images: this is how it does it
Grok users will be able to ask you to describe images and not just create them. Not only describes photos, one that can also do it with diagrams and other snapshots by using Grok 2 and its Flux AI imaging, according to TechRadar. That is, you can answer questions that users have over a previously uploaded image.
In an example shared by Elon Musk on his own platform shows that Grok can decompose an image into several parts and explain what happens in each of them. Even the owner of SpaceX and Teslastates that Grok is also capable of explaining the meaning of a joke. He also comments that it is a “preliminary version” and that “will improve quickly”.
This could be a first step for Grok to have the ability to explain audio and video content in the same way you do with visual elements. They comment from TechRadar that the doubt is in how will describe a copyrighted image in case I would do it as such or in a generic way. If you want to try it and ask Grok questions about the image or get a descriptive analysis of it, you can do so subscribing to X payment plans.
