The missile also had six homing heads with six submunitions each one, and in the final stretch of its trajectory it reached a speed greater than Mach 11, that is, eleven times the speed of sound.

Last Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin justified the launch of this new missile in response to Ukraine’s use of ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles from the USA and the United Kingdom.

The Russian president stuck out his chest in an appearance when he assured that “no one in the world” has a system like Oreshnikcapable of bypassing any anti-missile shield. “Yes, sooner or later other powers will also have it (…). But that will be tomorrow, or in one or two years, and we have it now, and that is the important thing,” he assured.

In addition, he announced that Russia will continue testing the new missile and serial production will begin of this new system. “We will continue with these tests, including in combat conditions. All depending on the situation and the nature of the security threats that are created for Russia,” he stated before indicating that they have “sufficient reserves” of these missiles.
