Agents of the National Police at the Algeciras Police Station (Cadiz) have arrested three minors, one 15 years old and two 16 years old, for their alleged involvement in a violent robbery of two other minors in the Puerta Europa Shopping Center, to which intimidated with a knife to steal the money they were carrying.
According to investigations, the suspects initially approached them requesting wifi connection from the boy’s phone, who agreed to share it. Immediately afterwards, one of the minors asked him for change of five euros, to which the victim responded that he did not have any money.
It was then that the main aggressor took out a knife to intimidate the boy and force him to hand over the 45 euros that he carried with him. After taking the money, the four individuals fled the scene on the run.
The rapid police intervention served to identify and arrest the main aggressor, who, in the police station and in the presence of his mother, admitted responsibility for the crime, justifying his action under the pretext of “need money to eat with friends“.
According to the Police, he confessed that the assault had been planned together with three other teenagers, who had defined functions to prevent the act from being discovered. Thus, one was intimidated by his physical build and two others were distracting to the surrounding people.
After the first arrest, the Police arrested two other people involved. Investigations remain open to identify the fourth suspect, for which there is still no specific data. Furthermore, as has been noted, two of the detainees had police record. Finally, those arrested have been released under the guardianship of his parents and they must appear before the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office in the coming days.
