The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Bolivia was informed this Wednesday about the rescue in a joint operation with the Police of a 26-year-old girl who a decade ago it was sold by its father to a couple who subjected her to physical and psychological abuse and sexual abuse.
The case is being investigated in La Paz by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Trafficking Crimes, following a complaint from a media outlet and the victim’s mother, explained the departmental prosecutor of La Paz, Luis Carlos Torrez, according to a statement from press of the Public Ministry.
The specialized unit located the address where the young woman was being held against his will and made “the necessary requests and the processing of the search warrant before the jurisdictional authority,” he indicated.
“During the rescue operation of the young woman, the suspects in the incident were apprehended,” added the prosecutor.
The detainees were identified as Julio CSH, 38 years old, and Delma PLP, 39 years old, who are being investigated for the crime of human trafficking.
The prosecutor specialized in Trafficking and Trafficking Crimes, Sheila RodrÃguez, pointed out that on Monday The young woman’s mother reported that her daughter was being held against their will by a couple in a home in the southern area of ​​La Paz.
The young woman’s father sold her to those now under investigation when the victim was 16 years old and without the knowledge of the mother, who was separated from the man due to the violence she suffered at home, according to the same source.
The complaint states that the young woman would have suffered physical, psychological and sexual abuse at the hands of the couple.
The victim managed to contact her mother by phone in September and told her about this abuse, and last week she contacted her again to ask her to be rescued.
The Prosecutor’s Office stated that The investigation was expanded against the victim’s father, Antonio IC, 58 years old.for the crime of human trafficking.
According to the Public Ministry, the man is currently held in the San Pedro prison, also in La Paz, serving a sentence for having raped his eldest daughter.
