Andorra already changed with the floods of 1982, which led to the canalization of the Valira river in Andorra la Vella and Escaldes. However, the step of creating a public domain hydraulic risk map was not taken. This is confirmed by the president of the College of Engineers of Andorra Vicenç Jorge in statements to RTVAwhich adds that there is no published information about it.
“Yes, there are maps of falls of blocks or avalanches, but maps of hydraulic risks do not exist as of now”, explains Vicenç Jorge. Currently, it is not possible to check whether a real estate development for sale is in a risk zone.
