We talk about the Las Tuerces Red Route.
This path begins in the beautiful mave villagethere we find a sign that indicates the beginning of the different routes. We cross the municipality guided by the red markings until we reach the La Rebolleda road, which we will cross towards a forest track full of poplars. We will reach The Horadadawhere we find an old flour mill that was energetically self-supplied with water from the Pisuerga River.
Leaving aside the factory and looking up, we can discover the via ferratas that climb the walls of the mountain. At this point, the path becomes a narrow and charming path that takes us to the La Horadada Tunnela spectacular rock formation from which we can enjoy views of the entire river canyon.
Crossing the natural tunnel we reach the top of the plateau and, following the red indications, we skirt the canyon to descend to one of the tracks that leads Villaescusa de las Torresone of the main towns in Las Tuerces and from where many of the hiking routes begin.
There is a meeting point between the red, green and yellow routes, this being the beginning of the last one. Continuing the path we will reach a high slope that runs along a large spring to the place where the different colored paths separate. In this part of the Red Route we will have to make some effort due to the steepness of the slope, but it is worth it, since we will be traveling the Las Tuerces labyrinth.
Once the ascent is finished we will arrive at the esplanade of Peña Mesathe last part of the route and one of the most striking enclaves of the place. There it is possible to climb to the top using the nails on the rock. This part is only for the most adventurous, as it may have some complications, but it is highly recommended if we want to appreciate complete views of this natural area. The return It is done along the same path, paying special attention to the parts that run through the canyon, which are very close to the cut.
