‘900 days without Anabel’: true story
On April 12, 1993, Anabel Segura went out, like every day, to run through her neighborhood. At that time, Anabel was 22 years old and studying business in Madrid. His father was a somewhat successful businessman who, after his good fortune in Germany, had bought a property in the exclusive neighborhood of La Moraleja. However, that morning neither he nor the rest of Anabel’s family were at home, but in Marbella.
A van interrupted the girl’s daily commute. In it, two men, aged 35 and 38, whom Anabel had never seen, were traveling. One was called Emilio and he worked as a transporter and the other was a plumber and responded to the nickname Candy. Drowned by debt, they had planned to kidnap Anabel, even though His criminal experience was zero.. Neither of them had ever committed the slightest crime until then.
Emilio and Candi did not count on Anabel’s relatives not being in the city. With the girl tied up, they travel several kilometers, not knowing what to do. It occurs to one of them that they can move on without the girl and they kill her.
After getting rid of the body, they decide to act as if the girl were still alive and contact Anabel’s family. When his relatives demand proof that his daughter is not dead, Emilio turns to his wife, who pretends to be Anabel in a phone call.
These recordings will be what precipitated his arrest. When broadcast on the program Who knows where?presented by Paco Lobatón, a viewer swears he recognizes the voice of Emilio Muñoz, a delivery man who had just passed by his house. On September 28, 1995, Emilio and Candi are arrested and it is discovered that the 900-day kidnapping had actually lasted only a few hours.
