The missing hikers were on a rock to protect themselves from a storm

Andorra la VellaThe last sign of Txell Fusté i Esteve Carbonellthe two Catalan hikers who disappeared in Arieja, shows that they were stopped for 23 minutes protecting themselves on a rock from the peat that was blowing on the Pic del Rulhe at 2,600 meters. They were less than 200 meters from reaching their destination. The mobile signal is lost at 1.40pm on Saturday 7 December. One of the volunteers helping with the search told NacióManresa that they could only partially protect themselves.

It is explained that twenty-five volunteers, including off-duty Catalan firefighters and GRAE and an Andorran mountain guide form the team that maintains the search once the gendarmes of Arieja and the firefighters of Andorra have stopped search on the ground and only helicopter flights. Fourteen volunteers did research on Monday and fourteen more did it on Tuesday and three of them did it on both days.

From the Incles Valley

One of the groups left from the Vall d’Incles and the rest from Pla de Peyres where the van of the missing was parked. They probed the snow depths and removed the snow from the area next to the rock where they took shelter. No clue found. The search, however, continues even though they have been missing for ten days and the chances of finding them alive are minimal.

The part that remains to be traced is the one that leads from the last point where they were to the valley that leads to Merens-les-Vals. It is practically the last option left after having ruled out the other possibilities, understanding that they had been disoriented by the storm.
