The ‘la Caixa’ Foundation This Friday he outlined his plan to help people affected by the DANAwhich has a budget of 5 million euros to act in the most affected territories.
Among the measures promoted, the creation of an extraordinary call for one million euros aimed at social entities in the province of Valencia that work in the affected areas, with the aim of acting immediately against the effects of DANA.

The period for presenting the initiatives opens this Friday, November 15, and Entities may request up to 20,000 euros. To speed up the management of this aid, the assessment of the actions will be carried out in order of presentation until the planned allocation is exhausted. They must be initiatives specifically aimed at responding to the emergency situation and the immediate needs derived from the effects of DANA.
Interventions can be framed in different lines of intervention to respond to the multiple needs of the current situation. The defined lines of action are: coverage of the basic and emergency needs of the affected people; conditioning or repair of the infrastructure and/or equipment of the headquarters of the social entity; and conditioning or repair of infrastructure and/or equipment of other spaces intended for the care of users of the social entity.
Added to this is that the social entities selected in the Call for Social Projects of the Valencian Community 2024 will be offered the possibility of reformulate the project presented to respond to the emergency situation. In fact, the entities selected in this 2024 call can also present their proposals to the extraordinary call in the face of the DANA emergency, since both are compatible.
Emergency and recovery
The entire aid plan of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation is aimed at the areas most affected by the cold drop and will be developed in two phases: the first, an emergency, intended to provide rapid and effective response to the most immediate needs of the victims; and the second, recovery, for the long-term support of these people at different levels.
This will take shape in four main lines of action: emergency, focused on supporting rehabilitation, andl sanitation of infrastructure, transportation and evacuation of people; social inclusion, to cover the basic needs of affected individuals and families; health, focused on psychosocial support for victims and the promotion of community health; and child care, to facilitate safe, playful spaces for accompaniment that promote conciliation.
For this purpose, it is working closely with the Spanish Red Cross, Cáritas, Save the Children, food banks, Fundación Secretariado Gitano and Acción contra el Hambre, to join forces with these reference entities and coordinate the response to the catastrophe.
Reinforcement of programs for vulnerable population
The ‘la Caixa’ Foundation will also strengthen its strategic programs to care for the most vulnerable people. One of the priority lines of action will be the psychosocial support of those affected. In this area, the foundation will make available to affected people 115 psychologists from the psychosocial care teams (EAPS), of its Program for Comprehensive Care for People with Advanced Illnesses, which will be coordinated by the two EAPS of Valencia.
On the other hand, through CaixaProinfanciaa program aimed at families with minors in vulnerable situations, the network of collaborating entities will be reinforced in the areas most affected by the cold drop and welcoming spaces will be created, of a recreational nature and that promote conciliation. In the case of the Incorpora program, whose objective is the labor integration of people at risk of exclusionthe network of entities linked to the project will be expanded and the self-employment line will be reinforced to accompany and advise people with small local businesses.
CaixaForum Valencia It is also at the service of those affected and facilitates, with a classroom equipped with computer equipmentthe administrative procedures of social entities to apply for the extraordinary call of the “la Caixa” Foundation or request other aid and services. The center offers itself as a safe space for children and reinforces their educational and family activity.
