Spaniards are increasingly looking for information about healthy homes to live in. This is highlighted by a Pladur report, which analyzes data and trends on-line about construction in Spain and which highlights that between 2019 and 2023, the number of people who have searched for information related to healthy construction on the internet has skyrocketed by 156%.
Improving acoustic insulation, thermal comfort, prevention of humidity and mold, ecological paints, air quality or safe materials are some of the matters that arouse the most interest among citizens when looking for a homeaccording to this report, which also highlights that 1 in 4 Europeans “lives in buildings in which the air quality inside is below appropriate” standards.
The report also focuses on the fact that “the low rate of building rehabilitation in Spain, aggravates structural and insulation problems,” emphasizing that a home rehabilitated in an efficient and healthy way can mean savings on the heating or air conditioning bill.
“This shift in focus towards well-being in construction highlights the need for solutions that improve air quality, maximize natural light and ensure energy efficiency in living spaces,” indicates the report, which reflects that among professionals in the construction sector, 29.50% are already attracted to buildings that prioritize healtha figure that rises to 47.10% in the case of sustainable construction.
From the perspective of professionals in the sector, the data reveal a strong interest in energy efficiency (44.20%)modular and prefabricated construction (41.30%) and smart buildings (40.20%).
The study also highlights that the plasterboard partitionsby containing gypsum, help provide “high hygrothermal comfort, since they act as regulators of ambient humidity.” “Pladur partitions help absorb excess humidity when it is too high in a room and release that humidity when it is too low,” highlights the general director of Pladur, Enrique RamÃrez.
The number of people searching for information on the Internet has also grown by 138%. on sustainable constructionespecially documentation on materials, construction regulations, carbon footprint and energy efficiency.
