The firefighters of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Alicante have rescued a man with a helicopter one year old baby and his mother in an isolated house in the Valencian municipality of Riola, in the Ribera Baixa region of Valencia.
In total, the Consortium’s personnel have saved 20 people that were in danger or isolated, after carrying out four reconnaissance flights in the Albufera area and in municipalities such as Paiporta or Torrent, as reported by the Consortium this Thursday in a statement.
These rescues are added to other actions of the Alicante troops in the affected areas due to the rain and wind storm in the province of Valencia, where they have been since this Wednesday morning to reinforce the relief efforts.
Specifically, they have mobilized four heavy rural pumps (BRP) and 12 firefighters from the Dénia, Benidorm, Cocentaina and Elda parks, as well as an Alpha 01 helicopter and a rescue group.
This Thursday at 6:00 a.m. the search and rescue dog canine unit of the Consortium. Likewise, the fire department has explained that during this day the incorporation of the rescue helicopter is not planned, but that it is waiting in case it is necessary to add it to these tasks.
