The former president of the PPCV, former senator for Valencia in several legislatures and also former president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Pedro Agramunt, has died at the age of 73as confirmed this Monday from the PP Valencian.
“We deeply regret the death of Pedro Agramunt, a political and a fundamental pillar for the Popular Party of the Valencian Community. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. Rest in peace,” the popular Valencians have stated on their social networks.
The general secretary of the PPCV and ombudsman of the group in Les Corts, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has also conveyed his condolences: “A political reference. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends in these difficult times. May he rest in peace.”
He entered politics in 1990, when he was elected president of the regional PP, a position he would hold until 1993. Likewise, in 1991 he was candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat Valencianaand president-spokesperson of the PP parliamentary group in the Valencian Cortes from this same year until 1993.
In addition, he was a senator for the Spanish Cortes until 2019, and also president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe between 2016 and 2017.
