The Cycling Tour will return to Andorra for another year next summer

Andorra la VellaThe Vuelta Ciclista in España returns, once again, to Andorra. It will be on August 28 and 29, 2025, with the end of the sixth stage and the start of the seventh. The cycling test came to the Principality for the last time in the summer of 2023 and with the one in 2025, it will be the 22nd time it has visited the country.

The sixth stage will leave Olot on August 28 and arrive in Andorra, where it will travel 35 km with two mountain passes: La Comella -second category- and Pal -first category-, with the finish at Caubella ( 1,900 m), at the Pal Arinsal station of Grandvalira Resorts. The following day, Andorra la Vella will host the start of the seventh stage, which will unite Andorra la Vella with Huesca.

Andorra Tourism has worked strategically to host two days of the test. This allows, on the one hand, to increase the media coverage of the country and, on the other hand, it favors sectors such as the hotel, commercial or restaurant sector, since the teams, workers and the fans stay longer long in the country In fact, the organization alone already displaces 900 vehicles and more than 3,000 people so that the event can take place.

The Vuelta a España is one of the three major international cycling races – along with the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France – and therefore has extensive media coverage around the world. Hosting prestigious races like this reinforces Andorra’s image as a leading cycling country. At the same time, the bet on top-level sporting events is part of the strategy of deseasonalizing tourism.

The 90th edition of La Vuelta will have 21 stages that will be contested in four countries. The start will take place on August 23 in Turin, the capital of Piedmont (Italy), where the first three stages will be contested. It will continue with a stage in France, to reach Catalonia. The last stage will end in Madrid on September 14.
