The Air Accident Investigation Service has concluded the recovery of the bodies of the two deceased in a small plane accident occurred this Friday in Cimanes del Tejar (Lion), a couple aged 67 and 69 who died after the aircraft they were traveling in crashed to the ground.
It will be the Civil Guardwho still works in the field, the person in charge of clarify the causes of the accident once the two bodies have been recovered, the Delegation of the Government of Castilla y León reported this Saturday.
The couple, a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man, were natives of Ponferrada (León) and died instantly as consequence of the impact of the small plane in which they were traveling and which occurred shortly before three in the afternoon this past Friday.
Remains collection
The Civil Guard has been working on the ground this Saturday morning to collect the remains that are scattered in the area of the accident, a mountain area near Cimanes del Tejar, about 25 kilometers from León.
The plane had been rented at the Real Aeroclub de León and had left the León airfield in what was going to constitute a local flight with takeoff and landing at the same airport.
It crashed due to causes are still unknown and that they continue to be investigated, about fifteen miles from the takeoff site, as confirmed by the same sources.
The aircraft was located in an area that is difficult to access thanks to an extensive search device that had the collaboration of León Firefighters, Military Emergency Unit and Local Police.
