MANILA, Philippines—This year’s edition of the Korean Basketball League All-Star Game will feature two Filipino imports in SJ Belangel and Ethan Alvano.

Belangel of the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus finished 14th at the end of the KBL All-Star voting period after garnering over 37,000 votes from fans and 31 votes from players around the league.

The Ateneo product is currently posting averages of 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals a night for Daegu, which is currently holding an 11-7 record.

Alvano, on the other hand, didn’t go unnoticed for his stellar play with the Wonju DB Promy as he also reached the quota to make the All-Star game.

The current KBL Domestic Player MVP garnered 37,900 fan votes and 49 player votes.

Alvano is currently norming 15.6 points, 5.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for DB Promy.

The KBL All-Star game will follow almost the same concept as the NBA’s, except instead of the top vote-getters choosing their teammates, it would be the two coaches selecting the players for their All-Star lineup.

Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus coach Cho Dong-Hyun will select players against Seoul SK Knights tactician Jeon Hee-Chul.

The All-Star Game commences on January 19 at Busan Sajik Gymnasium.
