The Spanish road network, as of December 2023, establishes that it has 165,375 kilometersaccording to data from Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. This means that we can travel practically the entire territory on all types of roads. And throughout the Iberian Peninsula we find different routes with very different characteristics: with a lot of curvesothers narrower or with unparalleled views of the landscape.
There where we can frame one of the most beautiful in the Basque Country. It is about the road BI-3152specifically the section that goes from Bermeo until Armintza. It is on this route where we find unique views of the Basque landscape.
The route along the BI-3151 highway
On this route between one town and another, which are separated by just over 25 kilometers, we found a road in very good condition. It is in Bermeo where you can visit its old port characterized by the fishermen’s houses and also the Ercilla tower.
By taking the BI-3151 road we can see a first section that is very good. Although it is a little narrow at first, it widens little by little. Of course, as we progress, it is increasingly more sinuous and narrowespecially from Bakio to Armintza.
On the way between both points we can see a beautiful coastal landscape. In addition, you can make a stop to visit those charming towns that we come across on the route. And not only that, but there are also different viewpoints to enjoy those unique views that this tour offers.
The end of the journey takes us to Armintza, a small fishing neighborhood in the municipality of Lemoiza place with great charm where you can enjoy some very curious waves. According to the Euskadi Tourism page, on days of medium swell “there is a right that breaks in a cliff area and only at mid tide. Its access must be done by rowing from the small fishing port of the town”, while on days of big swell, “there is a wave type A-frame at the entrance to the port channel, which is somewhat difficult to reach and where maritime support is needed.
